Preparing our youth to look for a brighter future.

Jan. 27 1967, Baylor Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Anyway that is when I, and where my two sisters were born. We didn't live in Dallas very long, as Pops was an up and coming lawyer, who's desire was to live on a lake and race yachts. My family moved out to Rockwall, Tx. when I was 5, and my public education commenced. Living on Lake Ray Hubbard I enjoyed racing sailboats and windsurfing allot more than I enjoyed R.I.S.D. activities, however, I managed to keep up my grades enough to get into U.T. Austin's Engineering program. Unfortunately, our family lost my mom just after I left for U.T. So with lagging attention, uncaring professors, I proceeded to produce such a record that the school felt their only recourse was to ask me to leave and not return. This actually took quite a bit longer than it sounds. I enjoyed the freedom of living away from home and had that as a motivating force to do enough not to be expelled. By the time I was expelled I had a wife and a crappy job. Down but not beaten and at my ex-wife's request I began taking classes at A.C.C. with the final goal to be reinstated at UT. However, at A.C.C. I discovered my love for making art, and for the first time professors actually encouraged me. I also met Den, a fellow art student who seemed to be taking classes as an amusement while looking for someone to cartoon with. Well that was it, I had decided to become an artist, and U.N.T., which has a better art school than U.T., had a fresh start program that would transfer allot of my hours and none of my grades. My ex-wife decided that was good for me but not her, so right after she divorced me I moved up to Denton to begin again. Four years later, and eleven years after I started, I finally received my undergraduates degree in the form of a B.F.A. whahooo... Quickly I jumped into the mini van and with my new girlfriend Christy, I headed back down to Austin to work in earnest on the comic book. Well, things happen. Den got a real job in 2000 at Apple and fell in love with the income as far as I could tell. Right after we made our international debut in San Diego at the International ComicCon, Den got tired of me complaining about doing all of the work, so in 2001 he quit 'The Budget Strips" and took Laughing Buddha Press with him. Now, after living in Portland two years, and recieving intensive training in producing, directing, and post production, I'm presenting my thesis...a traditional 2-d animation.
